My little Ollie has been re-admitted into the hospital. This past week Oliver has seen the pediatrician three times. Friday, Oliver was doing great. Weighed in at 6 lbs 11 oz. On Monday evening, I noticed Oliver’s breathing had increased to 72 breaths per minute. The doctor had us give him a higher dose of his Lasix. The next day we went to see the pediatrician and she wanted us to continue the increased dose of Lasix and come back the following day. Wednesday his respirations were 80 per minute and he had lost a total of 5 oz since Friday. After the pediatrician consulted with the cardiologist, we were re-admitted back into the hospital. The chest x-ray shows that Oliver has increased fluid in his lungs. They have increased his Lasix dose even higher in hopes of pulling the fluid off his lungs. Today, Oliver is breathing easier. His intake is still down, but he is on the right path.
