Two Months Post-Op

I cannot believe that Oliver had open-heart surgery almost two months ago!  The recovery period has been uneventful!  Which is a dream come true!  No infections.  The incision is healing beautifully.  And, he is off ALL his medications.

The changes in Oliver since he had the surgery is amazing.  Oliver only sleeps three times a day (instead of most of the day).  He continues to sleep through the night.  He is eating like a champ and growing big and strong!  The big guy weighed in this week at 9lbs. 14 oz.  AND, he is babbling!  I absolutely love hearing his voice.

Now that Oliver’s heart is fixed, we can focus on his developmental skills.  Oliver was rolling front to back and back to front when he was two months old.  Unfortunately, since the surgery he is no longer rolling.  We continue to work on muscle strength with him by encouraging tummy time and sitting him up.  We have started the Help Me Grow program.  They will be coming to our house twice a month to provide him with physical and occupational therapy.

Oliver’s favorite things:
-His activity mat.
-Ethan and Charlie reading to him.
-Sleeping in his mommy’s arms.
-Listening to music.
-The Sleep Machine (his swing).
-Being tickled.
-Bath time.
Things Oliver dislikes:
-Cold or room temperature milk.
-Being held like a baby.
-Tummy time.
