Today my sweet Oliver turned 6 months old. He is such an amazing, gentle, loving little boy. Oliver wakes up every morning and plays quietly in his crib. I can hear him making sounds and rolling from side to side. When you walk over to his crib to pick him up, he gives you the biggest smile that lights up his whole face. That smile is contagious!
Oliver has discovered Daddy’s scruffy face. When Luke is holding him, Oliver has to rub his face so he can feel the prickles. Oliver likes to stick his hand in daddy’s mouth and grab his nose! It is fun watching Oliver experience the world.
On Wednesday we have his 6 month check up. I am excited to check his weight. As you can see in the pictures, Oliver has chubby cheeks and his arms and legs are filling out. Because of Oliver being diagnosed with congenital heart disease and Down syndrome, he will be getting the RSV vaccine. This includes a shot every month for 5 months. We have to be extra cautious with Oliver because he has what they call a “floppy” air way. Trisomy 21 causes low muscle tone. A simple infection for the average person can be a serious infection for him.
Oliver continues to heal and grow! I am looking forward to all the years to come with this amazing little boy.
