Ethan Leaving the Nest

Oliver did not want to let go of Ethan, but neither did I!
Oliver loves the wrestling team! High fives from everyone!

A couple of hours prior to drop off- I am in the truck heading to take Ethan to college in Kentucky. Last night, I couldn’t sleep. All I could think about is how it felt like I had just brought him home from the hospital.

My heart grew bigger that day!

My 24 year old self was so excited when I discovered I was pregnant. Looking back, I realize I was a baby myself! I fell in love with my baby the instant the stick had a little positive on it. It blows my mind that I could love that little embryo with all that I had in me.

Then I had my baby boy. The moment he was placed in my arm I had this explosion of feelings. Love, fear, and amazement. I loved him fiercely! There was this instant connection between my baby boy’s heart and my own heart.

As I learn more about Jesus and continuing to understand the word of God, I realize that it is because of Jesus that I love fiercely! Our God loves us fiercely! He died on the cross for us in order for us to be saved. Wow!

My purpose of being Ethan’s mother was to raise him into a strong, independent man that loves and serves Jesus.

July 2025

My job is done. Now, I have to trust Jesus in protecting him and guiding him. Pray Ethan makes wise decisions and continues to work hard.

I thought I would have cried all day today, but I feel this amazing sense of peace. My boy is going to college and he is going to do great things! I am thankful that I was given Ethan and trusted to raise him for the past 18 years.

Today, Ethan begins his next journey. I can’t wait to cheer him on and be there anytime he needs me. For, my job is complete.

#27 Ethan played lacrosse for 8 years. He stopped his junior year to focus on wrestling.

Ethan went to States junior and senior year! He placed 7th. We are so proud of his hard work and dedication. He made a lot of sacrifices to get where he is today.

Congratulations, Ethan! I will always be your biggest and loudest cheerleader!
